Big changes are coming to The Squeaker Box!  Are you all prepared?

To give you a little taste of what's to expect moving forward with this blog, there's going to be less talk about me, and more talk about music.  I want this to be strictly a music blog.  You all deserve finding out the newest music out there, so I want to make more of an effort to do that.  Give me another week and then you will seeee!

Today is a BEAUTIFUL day, and it's getting me excited for summer.  Here are some tunes to keep for when we can roll our windows down this summer:

Bruno Mars - Grenade (Passion Pit Remix)

Shwayze + Cisco Adler - Summertime Girl

 Dirty Gold - California Sunrise

 Dilated Peoples - This Way

Bret and I got Nutmeg a new bed last week since her old sheepy bed was completely falling apart.  We both were sick of finding fleecy balls on the backs of our legs and the bottom of our sweaters.  As you can see above, Nutmeg truly hates her new bed.

So, according to weather.com, a huge "crippling ice storm" is expected to hit Pittsburgh sometime tonight/tomorrow.  That's sweet -- exactly what I was looking forward to going into this week.  It probably won't be as bad as what the meteorologist is saying.

Ok.  Maybe it will be bad.

Anyways, I made a nice playlist (full of a variety of new + old songs) for you all in case you get trapped inside this week!  Get your groceries tonight, prepare yourself this ENTIRE WEEK for the Steelers Super Bowl, and make yourself cozy (much like Nutmeg has this past week).

Doesn't sound too demanding, does it?

Songs on the playlist include:

Matt Nathanson - Little Victories
Mumford and Sons - Feel the Tide
Timmy Curran - Moving On
Gregory Alan Isakov - That Moon
Matt Costa - Astair
Iron & Wine - Love and Some Verses
Mumford and Sons - White Blank Page
Arcade Fire - Wake Up
Regina Spektor - On The Radio
White Stripes - We're Going to Be Friends
Blind Pilot - 3 Rounds and a Sound
Avett Brothers - Murder in the City
Neutral Milk Hotel - King of Carrot Flowers Pt. 1
Bon Iver - Blindsided
The Veils - Sit Down By the Fire
Spoon - I Summon You
Hey Rosetta! - Yer Spring

I wanted to post a few new songs that were released this week:

Let's start with Amos Lee... *swoooooooooooon*  I heart him.  He released his new album "Mission Bell" today and so far -- so good!  He's so dreamy...

Amos Lee - El Camino

I haven't heard of James Vincent McMorrow before, but after previewing his album, I have to say that I'm officially a fan.  All songs paint a wonderful story and are simply beautiful.  Reminds me of Bon Iver...
05 - James Vincent McMorrow - If I Had A Boat

Abigail Washburn has a great folksy voice.  I remember listening to "Keys to the Kingdom" non-stop when I first found the song.  Her music always makes me happy.  Listen here.

I like this song.  It has the right amount of pop + beats that make it tolerable and enjoyable.  It is the latest MP3 released from Mountain Dew's Green Label Sound.
MNDR - "Cut Me Out"

We're all prepping for the Steelers game this weekend!  Nutmeg's been sleeping in her Steelers fleecey blanket all this week.  She didn't really like me turning it into a cape for the photo, but she dealt wth it.  LOVE her...

So yea!  Friday!  The week is over!  It.  Was. SO.  BUSY!

For those who haven't seen my mass posts on Facebook, please help support TerraShift.  We are a finalist for the 2011 Unreasonable Institute.

On a different note, I have been in a really good mood today.  The snow is beautiful outside... I cleaned the kitchen... had a few wonderful conversations with people today.  When I asked Sabrina if she had any crazy plans for the weekend?

Sabrina:

I'm going to the gun show
Yeah I said that. I have tickets.
I didn't go to Dallas last weekend.  Instead I drove 1.5 hrs southwest to another suburb of Houston and met some college friends for dinner at Red Lobster...
Yeah, we know how to roll.

... cue the ROFL.  Totally miss this girl.

Anyways, since I'm in a good mood - I must include a weekend playlist!  There are so many great things about this weekend:

1.)  Steelers celebrating/partying Friday - Sunday (literally, everyone is the
       city is going nuts)
2.)  Not worrying about what to wear for the weekend (Obviously, it has to be
black and gold... or a jersey)
3.) Steelers playing in the AFC championship on Sunday (YEAAAA!!!!)

So wonderful.  Let's get this weekend started with some music!

Nothing's going to bring us down :)

The list of people performing at Coachella 2011 came out this week.  It's interesting to me that they would put some bands in bigger letters than others when some of the better bands are actually the guys in point 4 font on the poster.  Kings of Leon?  Really?  They had one good year...  Don't waste your time listening to "Use Somebody" when you could be listening to some other awesome bands.

And Kanye... I mean, his performances shouldn't come as any surprise to anyone.  Plus, he will sing all of his new stuff, but none of it is really that good (in my opinion).

I went through the poster and strategically pulled out who (if you are going) should not miss!

If I could, I would LOVE to see any of the artists below live.  I've included their music videos (and a playlist at the bottom!) so you can see what kind of performers they actually are:

Robyn - Dancing on my Own Video and Dancehall Queen Video
Brandon Flowers - Only the Young Video
Afrojack (ft. Eva Simons) - Take Over Control Video
Marina & the Diamonds - Oh No Video
Arcade Fire - The Suburbs Video
Mumford & Sons - Little Lion Man Video
Empire of the Sun - Walking on a Dream Video  (and let's not forget the Wiz Khalifa version here)
Cage the Elephant - Ain't No Rest for the Wicked Video
The Swell Season - The Moon
Two Door Cinema Club - Something Good Can Work Video
Tallest Man on Earth - King of Spain Video
Freelance Whales - Generator (Second Floor) Video
Wiz Khalifa - Say Yeah Video (then) and Black & Yellow Video (now)
Ratatat - Seventeen Years Video
Duck Sauce - Barbara Streisand Video ... and the one with Sid the Kid Video
Tinie Tempah - Pass Out Video
Riva Starr - I Was Drunk Video
